Quality too - grinders

Surprisingly my wife wanted a new bench grinder for Christmas. Our old Sears mill got to the point where we had to start it manually. I was surprised by the poor reviews of most grinders on the market. The price of the Metabo coffee grinder was much higher than others, but the reviewers said the quality is better day and night. Not like before

This is my second Metabo DS 200. The first is about 10 years old and was perfect before the shaft bent in an accident. I figured I'd just grab another one to replace. However, quality control has not been transferred to the Chinese factory that makes them, but to another place. I wouldn't call it junk, but in no way can it be called a quality meat grinder. The description is wrong too. It no longer has bayonet mounts on the side panels as shown on the Revain display, just three poorly threaded…

It's not a Baldor grinder but it's 1/4 the price

After reading all the horror stories about excessive vibration due to too much shaft run out (shaft runout) on Dewalt, Porter cable etc grinders I have decided to invest some extra money in this Metabo product to replace my defunct Delta bench grinder. While I would love a USA made Baldor grinder, I couldn't justify the $600-$1000 price tag since I'm not trying to make a living from my tools.
