I was totally disappointed when the box arrived, the first thing I read was Made in China. And it shows that the components are classic Chinese, the eye protection and mounts are the same as any other Chinese product, and they look like they'll last as long as it took to install them. In my 40 years as an engineer for a major equipment manufacturer I have used several sanders. Much of my experience has come from Baldor's excellent line of 10" or 12" industrial sanders Collected. Other grinders lacked the power for heavy grinding or the precision for sharpening thin tools, or both. I really didn't want to spend $2,000 on Baldor so I decided to try Metabo.
