Disappointing Investment in Industrial Power & Hand Tools

This power tool failed to perform at the level expected of a contractor grade device. Thanks to my knowledge gained in practice, I have used and own power tools of superior quality with more durable parts, faster motor action, and greater battery life without breaking the bank. This Metabo HPT D10YB simply didn't measure up and left me feeling disappointed despite the investment.

Pros
  • None
Cons
  • Poor Performance, Lackluster Battery Life.

The deduction is not fixed!

I received it in the mail today. It appears to be a good instrument made in Japan, it looks good but the trigger won't stay on unless you hold it in your hands. For some users this may not be a problem but for me it is important as it is much needed for more drilling applications!

Pros
  • Permanent test results
Cons
  • You could choose a newer model

I'm a wood turner and use it for mechanical sanding. I also have a Makita angle drill for grinding the pier. An assistant replaces the late Sweeks. Souix is best for mechanical grinding, but this drill has been out of production for 10 years. There are fake souix, but they are clearly not enough. Makita is in second place. The best feature of the Makita is the long switch. The Matibo is nicely made, has plenty of power, but the switch isn't as friendly as the Makita. I doubt I will ever replace

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • Very expensive
