🔌 Metra 44-EC204 204-Inch Extension Cable for Antennas Review

204" extension cord works great! I connected 2 of these together in my garage to hook up a car stereo I installed under a cupboard. I've had it long enough to to get to the place where I installed the antenna, the connection was easy and the quality was good.

I bought this antenna extender as a temporary connection to my AM/FM boat antenna. I had to route the antenna cable from the port side around the bow and into the stereo on the starboard side console (about 20 feet). Yes, the specified length is correct. I was expecting mediocre reception as the cable is thin compared to the 8ft antenna cable that came with the digital boat antenna and the price is so cheap. I was wrong! The ends of this cable are HUGE. The connections are inherently large, but they've made this cable just as awkward to get through tight spaces. Worse, the terminal connections are unreliable. If you accidentally pinch one end while trying to pull the cable through, you can SIMPLY rip off the end of the cable. and then you screwed it up. It would be nice if this cable had some sort of thin/small splice so you can use a much thinner cable and then make connections when you're done.

I didn't read the description or the reviews when I bought it, just saw a great price with a high rating and I thought it was 24 inches. NO, that's NOT a typo, the baby really is 204"17ft. It works perfectly, about 15ft longer than I need, but I won't give a bad review for lack of attention to detail.
