Metra 99-3105 Saturn Dash Kit with Pocket 95-99: A Perfect Din Mount Solution Review

Perfect match for my 1996 Saturn SL2. It looks like it came from the factory. The recommended antenna adapter and plug and play connection was also used. Everything worked great!

Fits well, radio is reliable. Has four small square holes on the back of the small pocket. Do not put small objects inside that could fall, as they could get caught in the wires and switches of the air conditioner and temperature controller. They must have multiple colors.

This kit fits well and appears to be quite sturdy. I like that it has a pocket. Some not. However, there are some weird plastic ribs in the pocket that can get in the way at times when you're trying to put things in. The plastic also matches the factory parts fairly well in color and texture, but that's by no means exact.

Took about 30 seconds to install and looked great! The only drawback was that there were no screws to attach it to the car, only two for the radio, which didn't fit, but weren't needed either! Overall it worked well and was insanely easy to install since I had a bunch of random screws.

I find that for the price you usually get a slightly poorer quality. I was really surprised that I didn't have to change the installation. It took me less than half an hour to completely remove and install the factory radio with my aftermarket. Of course I cheated and the new radio already had a retrofit wiring harness installed. Still surprised with durability and fit. Praise.

The only complaint about some of the plastic protrusions inside the tablet. They hinder the placement of larger items and they weren't in my dash compartment. If I knew they were there I wouldn't complain but they don't appear in the picture and I don't recall them being mentioned in any description.

This item worked very well in the 1998 Saturn SL sedan. Just make sure you put the new radio parts in the correct order (on my Kenwood KDC-152 in-dash MP3/WMA-CD receiver it went into the rear first, then the dash attached, then the head unit into the Front), or you end up installing and uninstalling it a few times like I did before you get the hang of it. :) I used a Metra 70-1858 radio harness for a GM 88-05 harness and a Metra 40-GM10 GM antenna adapter, which worked fine. Purchased for '95 Saturn sl1. Great fit. Nice and solid but also light enough to pierce through if you need custom knobs, switches, lights etc which will likely be added if you are already making a custom head unit lol. Why not add more now that you've gotten started properly? But I digress. This is a great product with a decent price. I recommend it to anyone who has a suitable car model and year.

I'm a big fan of the 96-01 Saturns - mostly for their amazing fuel economy - so I've used quite a few of these over the years.
