Most of it was not needed

I used this to install a new DIN head unit in a '97 Thunderbird. The only part I had to use from the kit was to hold the back of the device in place. Closing details were not required.

Pros
  • Gasket/trim ring allows it to sit flush with the dash
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product

I needed what is in the photo. small .

I needed what was in the photo. The only sure thing is a small holder for the back of the head unit. Does anyone know what part number is actually shown?

Pros
  • OEM Rear Support Bracket Kit
Cons
  • Outer

Not as bad as I read!

Honestly I expected the mount to be a flexible poop. Not so. It's strong enough, but the attachment clasp might not last more than a distance or two (not a problem for me). The color may not match the original device, but unless you compare them side by side it's impossible to tell a difference.

Pros
  • Quick conversion from 2 shafts to DIN
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

Not as bad as I read!

To be honest, I expected the mount to be a flexible piece of shit. Not so. It's strong enough, but the attachment clasp might not last more than a distance or two (not a problem for me). The color may not match the original device, but unless you compare them side by side it's impossible to tell a difference.

Pros
  • Easy installation
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

Revainrating 1 out of 5

2 of 5 pieces are missing twice in a row.

Picture shows 4 bezels and 1 guide bracket. The actual package came with 2 frames (not the one I needed) and the rail mount I needed. I received a cross-ship replacement product from Prime. The replacement had the exact same missing parts sealed in the box. Since I needed a rail mount I kept the original and sent the package back for a replacement. The loss of money and time is only temporary. The loss of trust in Metra will last a lifetime.

Pros
  • Best
Cons
  • Clarity
