Not as shown.: Soldering and soldering accessories

Packaged not as shown in the pictures, purchased on purpose because it had a picture of a needle and I wanted it for precise application. This syringe had no needle. 10/10 will not buy again and I will not trust other ads buying from this seller.

  • Easy to use

Something is wrong - soldering flux

Something is wrong with this flux. I'm not sure if this is a batch issue or if I'm just unlucky. Within the flux are crystallized flux balls or some type of impurities. I work with BGA and can't use this flux because the impurities don't melt when heated and prevent the BGA from mounting properly on the PCB. This flux is useless to me now. I put a little on my finger to show. Has anyone seen this before?

  • Delivery was very fast

The piston can hardly be moved!

Although the flux itself is fine, the syringe applicator is terrible. I don't know if it's just me or if they're all like that, but it's too hard to push the plunger and when it works it doesn't stop. I ended up just using a swab to apply the leak to the SMD pads. Generally not very efficient. I think I prefer Kester 186 Liquid and will make my own little syringes to dose it.

  • great product

  • no instructions

Order at your own risk.

Often ordered, usually works great. I received this item with no cap on the end of the hose and it was leaking everywhere. Also, it wasn't in the usual plastic packaging. Attention, order at your own risk. They also used to offer a set of two tubes for the same price, so you're not getting what you're used to for your money. the same amount of soldering flux. The old tube weighs 10 grams, the new one weighs 9.8, and when I weigh the scales, it actually comes out at 9.6 grams with a differentโ€ฆ

One of the best no-clean fluxes

I love this stuff. Like most, I use different fluxes. Before that I preferred the Chipquik SMD291. Although it doesn't contain much as both are excellent, I prefer the MG Chemicals version. Makes it much easier to clean bridges, solder drips, etc. I would suggest pouring from this tube into a smaller (3-5cc) syringe. This simplifies the application because you can generate more pressure with less effort than with a large syringe. I prefer to connect the tips of the syringes with a short (0.5โ€ฆ

Save best with Solder & Flux

Amtech recommended but twice the price. So I went with this "bestseller" and "favorite" instead. After all, flow is flow, right? Not right. This material evaporates before you even use the iron or heat gun. The small amount of flux that remains is not enough to support the flow of the solder. It takes superhuman strength for the plunger to push the thick mass through the needle, and once it begins to flow you'll need to pull the plunger back to ensure it stops flowing. In short, this productโ€ฆ

Let cool on a towel

Difficult to use as it takes a lot of force to squeeze the paste out of the tube. Then the disturbing part. Immediately I had to figure out how to clean the grout. The project worked on guitar pots. I took a towel and put it on the work table so as not to scratch the guitar. Put some flux on the back of the pots and tin them. Allow them to cool by laying them out on a towel. then I discovered that the joints were literally sticky! I could put my finger on the back of the pots and they wouldโ€ฆ

Even I look like a pro

I've recently started repairing SMD electronics and my soldering skills have been lacking. After trying a cheap flux pen that seemed to be made mostly of alcohol, I saw a guy using this paste and decided to give it a try. It made a difference day and night. The paste is opaque when applied and stays exactly where you put it. When heat is applied it instantly becomes transparent and melts to flow exactly where you need it. It doesn't appear to be as smoky as the flux in most solders, but theโ€ฆ
