Description of Mi TDS Pen Water Quality Tester

Everyone knows that clean drinking water is the key to good health. We cannot visually determine how pure the water we drink is. At first glance, clean, clear water may contain various impurities. TDS refers to the total amount of solids dissolved in water. The degree of mineralization to some extent affects the quality of water. The lower the TDS, the lower the concentration of heavy metal ions and soluble salts, and, accordingly, the better the quality of drinking water. TDS tester from Xiaomi can accurately determine the degree of mineralization of water. According to World Health Organization (WHO) standards, drinking water should not exceed 600 mg/l TDS. At a mineralization level of 1000 mg/l and above, the taste of water changes. The abbreviation TDS stands for "Total Dissolved Solid", this indicator is called the content of solids or total salt content. This indicator is read by the TDS tester. Water consists not only of H2O, but also of many impurities not visible to the naked eye. The sources of water mineralization are various inorganic salts and minerals, and sometimes some organic compounds. We see them by the scale in the kettle. Now imagine that all this scale is in your organs and they are trying to filter it all, which, as you know, turns out for the time being. Well, enough horror stories, let''s find out how the device works. TDS tester measures in PPM (from 0 to 9990). PPM (parts per million) is the fraction of parts per million, that is, 1 mg / l. However, the World Health Organization does not have clear criteria for the degree of water quality. It depends primarily on the specific territory, its climate and the adaptability of the indigenous population. However, it is not recommended to drink water if its PPM is higher than 1000. Xiaomi TDS tester can test water quality for three kinds of impurities: 1. Soluble salts: calcium ions, magnesium ions, etc. 2. Ionic organic compounds: ammonium acetate, sulfates etc. 3. Heavy metal ions: chromium, zinc, lead, copper, etc. There is also a table, based on the numbers of which, we will understand what the tester shows us. 0-50 PPM. Crystal clear water that has undergone deionization, distillation and other types of purification. This water is "too" pure and it is not recommended to drink it all the time. 50-100 PPM. Pure water that has been filtered in a household filter or water from mountain springs. 100-300 PPM. Ordinary water. It does not shine with purity, but you can drink it without harm to health. 301-600 PPM. High solids content. Such water feels heavy and, as a rule, already has a specific taste. 600-1000 PPM. Dirty water with a critical solids content. Drinking such water is already quite unpleasant. 1000 PPM. Water unsuitable for drinking. You can''t drink this.

The quality exceeds all expectations, I recommend to buy.

I read the reviews and decided to buy a tester. It really works. I don't know how exactly. But, having tested the water from the spring, where I always draw, I got a value of 92, this is a very good indicator. And tap water is 255, this is the maximum allowable value for drinking water, but you can drink it.

This simplest device does not check the quality of water! It only shows the amount of salts in water by measuring its electrical conductivity, but will not be able to determine other pollution. Has some pros: The device is simple, there is nothing to break. It is intended for measurement of quantity of various salts in water. Has cons: I did not like the fact that this device is called a water quality analyzer, which is a marketing ploy and misleading customers!

The right product for me, there were no problems.

Great tester. I can't single out anything in particular. Not to say that it is a useful and necessary thing in everyday life, but just for the sake of curiosity, it’s interesting to see what you drink.

Excellent quality, absolutely not expected for such a price.

They tested their water, and stopped drinking it after that. The highest quality water was from the Health Key vending machine.

Pros
  • Compact, pleasant to the touch, intuitive to use
Cons
  • There is no instruction in the package, there is no decoding of numbers

Nothing unusual, normal product.

From the factory, it shows the weather on Mars, but not the ppm of your water. Search the internet for setup guides. Calibration is not difficult, so for the money it is quite a good device.

The product is really good, I'm glad I bought it.

The simplest test of any water for its degree of purity is the presence of sediment (scale) in an electric kettle after boiling. Water "Holy source" has the same impurity index (according to the device) as purified water from the filter "Barrier" with the most sophisticated cartridge. At the same time, the "Barrier" leaves scale, but the Holy Spring does not. At this point, it is not at all clear how the device works and how much it can be trusted In other cases, he only confirmed the internal

Pros
  • Price-quality ratio Well determines the degree of contamination
Cons
  • It is not always clear how the degree of contamination is determined

Valuable purchase, nothing but pluses!

Pros below: High-quality plastic, without sharp corners, it is pleasant to hold in hands. Simple and clear to use. Compact. With its cons. Sometimes when you lower it into water, an air bubble forms near the contacts and the tester shows incorrect readings. You have to pop the bubble.

Ordered through , brought the next day (surprisingly). The device did not turn on at first, I already thought that it was a marriage, but it turned out to be dead native batteries. After replacing it, it started right up. Naturally, I tested all the water. I bought it just to check the quality of the reverse osmosis filter. To begin with, I checked it with distilled water, the device showed 0. I checked on the water from the old osmosis, where the mineralizer ended - 11. New osmosis with…

Pros
  • Easy to use Accurate Readings
Cons
  • Does not turn off automatically. No instructions in 2022

Not at all what I expected.Terrible!

‍️ a miracle device for testing the purity of water))) . 1- We check the mineral water, pour it out, undrinkable. 2- we check the "healing" mineral water, run away, otherwise we will suddenly go in pairs. 3- take a solution of lime, rejoice, drink. This test is for the presence of SOLUBLE INORGANIC impurities. But only . It will precipitate or be organic, the water will not become drinkable from this. P. S. Many thanks to those who write reviews having an idea of what they write. It…

Pros
  • For a quick check of filter contamination or as a toy
Cons
  • A crazy description of the purpose of the tester. Misleading people.)

A little bit not what I expected, generally fine.

If you already know the composition of the water (submitted it for examination) and want to QUICKLY (and cheaply) check how your filter works (does it filter at least some +/- ions), or if you don’t have anything at all to determine the quality of water, then measurement resistance / conductivity of water can help you at least something. And if you do not like cheap and scary outwardly similar devices, then Kasayomi is our choice! (Mine - so exactly, but I have already ordered test strips for…

Pros
  • + Size. Very small, just over a pen. + Build quality. Very neat, elegant and ascetic design.
Cons
  • - No proper instructions. I had to go through several video reviews and instructions to get it to work as intended. This is all despite the fact that I understand the principle of its operation (resistance / conductivity measurement). - The accuracy and interpretation of measurement results is the sole responsibility of the user. What you intended there with this device, you must know and understand for yourself. - You measured the resistance of a drop of water in a glass, nothing more. Which ions give such conductivity/resistance? And how will they affect your body? No one knows this until you take this water for a normal analysis.

Wonderful quality, one hundred percent satisfied!

I apologize for the dirty hands and nails. I came from a dacha (construction site) and immediately set about installing a reverse osmosis filter (I was poking around in the pipes, you understand))) I bought a tester to the filter. What indicators I saw: 378 ppm tap water, after the filter 12 ppm and a couple of tables, what for what, and why))) It may come in handy.

Pros
  • Simple, compact. To check the filter norms.
