Not suitable for reading books, newspapers, too short. And not bright enough. I rarely find a place for this lamp, I think I will have to return it.

I finally found the table lamp I was looking for. Simple on/off switch (surprisingly hard to find), flexible neck and clip so I can attach it to any part of my desk. I gave up three different lamps in favor of this one. I can move it to work with the camera in a XOOM meeting so it's well lit, I can bend it over Laptop #2 to see the dark keyboard, and I can use it to screen a room illuminate that does not disturb others. . This light does everything. Couldn't be happier.

This flashlight can be attached to anything. The light is bright and has two color options. I attached mine to an old fashioned lamp because the lamp gives off almost no light and it is very inconvenient to reach the light switch in bed.
