Good sound but all plastic

Very happy with sound quality, sensitivity and output level. It replaces a much more expensive proprietary microphone that was built like a tank but had lousy audio output. This microphone comes with a foam windscreen and a fur windscreen. BUT it is made entirely of flimsy plastic so its durability can be questioned. This is to be expected given the reasonable price, just treat it with care. This is the reason for deducting a star.

Broken twice upon arrival.

Ordered a few weeks ago. When it arrived the mounting base was broken. Arranged an exchange through Revain. A new one arrived today and the mounting base also broke when replacing it. I'll have to use it this weekend so I don't fret about another exchange, especially since they don't seem intact for sure. The sound quality seems good, but the mount had to be adjusted to work without the square base. Hopefully it doesn't wobble on the mount and make noise. I would recommend any product other…

Good price for an average microphone

I'm working on setting up a YouTube studio in my garage. I have a wireless microphone connected to my main camera, I have it on one of the side cameras. It's not a super high quality product, but I'd say it's average. It will be fine for most voice applications, but I wouldn't leave it for music recording or a concert or anything else where sound quality and detail would be very important. If you're tracking your performance, this is a good buy, especially considering how low the price is. It…

Fragile plastic, so-so sound quality

This product's sound quality (at +20dB) is a bit sizzling, but generally works well. At 0 dB, the noise is significantly lower, but still audible. It is a pity that it does not work in passive mode in the "off" position (without reinforcement). The real problem is the brittle plastic. I am over 50 years old and am very careful with electronics. I have a Pelican case for my camera with this mic in it. I didn't even realize the base was broken, only that it was incomplete when I used it again…

Pros
  • High marks for grip and durability from testers
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options

Great quality at a fair price

The microphone seems to be well made and delivers good sound quality. I really like the mic and it will be a permanent addition to my bag. Read below for some more detailed thoughts. Not too small and not too big, it outshines the camera. - The sound quality is much better than I expected from a microphone in this price range. - Easily connects to the camera and the connector has a long enough cable to connect to the camera. without the uncomfortable extra wire that sticks to everything.…

An improvement over the camera's built-in microphone

instead of in front of a live audience. Initially, I recorded audio using a professional microphone and voice recorder, but syncing audio to video took me a long time. I thought adding an external microphone to the camera might solve the problem. Unfortunately, that didn't happen, but it prompted me to delve deeper into the possibilities of the camera's external audio input. What I found was that the camera really failed to capture professional quality audio: I fed it from the output of my mic…
