🚫 Renewed Microsoft Docking Station for Surface 3 (SC EN/XD/ES Hdwr GJ3-00001) - Not compatible with Surface Pro 3 Review

I ordered this because the charging port on my Surface 3 broke. I wanted a quick fix until I could find a local repair instead of sending it to Microsoft (which was a problem from the start, and they changed the block once). Of course, this was 3 weeks out of the warranty period. It ran like clockwork and turned out to be a real godsend as it was difficult to find someone to fix it.

I suddenly found myself unemployed and used my Surface 3 as my computer to look for work. This docking station helps me by allowing an efficient transition from tablet mode to PC mode without loading I/O ports, unplugging and unplugging cables for keyboard/mouse, external monitor, etc. I think the ethernet connection connected directly to my switch/router also provides better speed than Wi-Fi. A must have if you have a Surface 3 and use it at home or in a hotel. Setup is very easy and I can connect an external USB3 hard drive, wireless mouse, keyboard and monitor. Bought refurbished but haven't seen anything to suggest it's not brand new. I had to buy a second unit when the connector broke off in the back and I realized that opening the case required special tools. Luckily the second one was just as cheap so no regrets.

I set this up for my mom who is not very computer savvy and is about to get back into online classes. She has a Surface so she can travel and use her desktop when she's home.
