Great keyboard as long as it works

Microsoft did a good job designing this keyboard. It's ergonomic, comfortable and stylish. I hate that I had to pay extra to buy a Surface keyboard when it really is a must-have addon2. Mine broke within 6 months and being abroad I couldn't get a replacement and had to pay again for a new one. The magnetic part came off the keyboard itself and I had to manually attach it each time. In addition, the cover material has come loose from the keyboard itself. Best 3 stars.

Type Cover stopped working after 2 years.

It worked fine for about 2.5 years but started to have problems with sticky buttons. All of a sudden, the back and delete buttons didn't work until I took the font cover off and put it back on. This week 8/27/20 the keyboard stopped working except for the trackpad and fingerprint scanner. No amount of troubleshooting, deleting connections, reinstalling or updating drivers solved the problem. 08/29/20 - the letter "q" got stuck and typed into text fields (qqqqqqqqqqqqqq.). Good keyboard, but plenty of room for improvement

Mostly easy to use. I love that the keyboard can be removed and added back on the fly. Complaints: It gets dirty quickly, it's cumbersome to wash. The strangest behavior is that the Surface Pro sometimes doesn't recognize any keystrokes when I wake the device from sleep. Sometimes keystrokes are not registered when logging in. This is probably a software problem in Windows, not a keyboard error. However, the keyboard has a physical flaw. Because it's quite flexible, the keyboard loses power and

Consumer report was correct, Surface products are faulty

Thinking that the Microsoft Surface line of products will have the same quality control as Apple products, I decided to sell my iPad Pro to be more productive. At the same time, Surface Pro is truly more productive than using an iPad Pro with a keyboard. This keyboard fails me half the time. Mostly after putting my Surface Pro to sleep and then turning it back on. Surface Pro 4 does not recognize Type Cover. In most cases I had to detach and reattach the typecover several times as the firstโ€ฆ

  • There are issues

Bought this to replace my Surface Pro 3 keyboard as it has a fingerprint reader. I'm glad I did. In Windows 10, fingerprint reader is widely used. Microsoft has also done a GREAT job with key spacing. While this may LOOK like a very small difference in specs, it makes a HUGE difference in typing, especially for people who type like me. I've never taken a typing class, so I don't know how to type touchtyping. I type fast simply because I've been doing it for a very long time. That tiny extraโ€ฆ

Awesome keyboard with awesome fingerprint scanner

If you are the proud owner of a Microsoft Surface Pro 3 or Surface Pro 4 then you need this awesome keyboard. Yes, even if you have a Surface Pro 4 with its impeccable Hello face recognition feature. You read here and there that you don't need a fingerprint scanner because of Hello. I disagree as I've found using a scanner much more convenient than Hello in some cases. Also, I've never seen such a perfect scanner: I've used fingerprint scanners on other keyboards, smartphones, etc. and noneโ€ฆ

UPDATE FROM FIRST PURCHASE: Fingerprint reader has stopped working and was terribly unreliable at first, now it works unexpectedly all the time How can a so expensive tech so unreliable i love it its an amazing upgrade for the surface pro 3 much more premium than the surface 3 keyboards the touchpad is 5x better but not as good as i expected but i get it Don't get it wrong, it's still worth upgrading to the crappy Surface Pro 3 keyboard. Typing on this keyboard is a pleasure on yboard. Theโ€ฆ
