The crown itself worked fantastic. I thought all 5" recessed had the same hole size. Wrong. This hole saw makes a 5 3/ 8" hole but my recessed glasses needed a 5 1/2" hole.
Can't confirm durability as we only have about 40 holes under the belt, but drywall cuts very cleanly. When fitting 5" convertible cans you might just pull the trigger because there isn't much else.Dust evacuation wasn't as bad as expected given the exposed rear.It just falls down as usual rather than being flung around as feared.
I have several sizes of glasses at home, as well as several different sizes of Milwaukee hole saws. I can tell you that going through 1/2" thick drywall is no problem with them. Some people don't like the fact that it's open and dust comes out. I'm just making sure the dust doesn't do the job affected, then I have a vacuum to pick up most of the dust while drilling, or use another aftermarket dust control system.
