Miscellaneous observations . . .Quickly cuts PVC of any size up to 2 inches. Cuts clean, across. The battery lasted several days with regular use. Lightweight and easy to use with one hand. Bright red, easily recognizable in the tool bag. . .Cuts so fast it explodes old brittle PVC (sigh) Can't set the tool down and cut (cracked pipe) Leave it in direct sunlight on a hot day - battery runs slow. . . ed down (restored in shadow) Well . . .My old PVC cutters are no longer in my tool bag. Defective battery straight out of the box

Compact M12 battery was completely empty when received. I tried to charge it but the charger said bad battery. I called Milwaukee Service and they asked for a serial number on the top of the battery. The date code indicated it was made in June 2020. Was asked if they would just replace the battery due to the difficulty of packing and shipping. Since I bought it through Revain from a third party, Milwaukee said the best option would be to find a Milwaukee service center to have it replaced under

Works great but not intended for use on old PVC that has been exposed to a lot of UV light.

You will need a saw to cut PVC that has been exposed to the sun for a long period of time, as UV exposure makes PVC brittle and breaks under pressure. This cutter is great for PVC that is still malleable. I had 1-1/2" PVC pipes that I installed in 2012 and they went to the check valve and this cutter broke (as expected) all 3 above ground pipes, but it worked absolutely perfectly on the underground portion of those pipes.
