Fun, slightly messy project

This worked really well, you have to wrap it to keep the moisture in until it's ready to use again. Recompress any additions for future use. It dried overnight and the next day we painted it. Fun, a little messy project. Be sure to use a plastic tablecloth. We buy them in bulk at the store for $1, just stick them on the table outside and have fun.

Pros
  • Includes: Five pounds of air drying clay and illustrated instructions (for ages 7+)
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

Works, but not very well

My 8 year old daughter could make pots with this but she had to learn how to hold the light touch or the wheel would stop turning. She also just enjoyed experimenting with spinning clay. Clay for this should be soft enough. She loved it, just be ready for a deep cleaning or put it outside or somewhere that can take a lot of splashing.

Pros
  • Creativity continued: MindWare wants to keep the love of pottery and ceramics going with this £5 clay filler for your beginner pottery wheel set.
Cons
  • old

but it's so much fun. You need to let the clay dry.

It's a big mess, but it's so much fun. You should let the clay dry a bit when it first comes out of the packaging as it has a consistency similar to mud. However, after you let it dry (roughly the texture of plasticine), it will be a lot of fun. It's also much better than plasticine because anything that's dried can be revived with water. You can also let it dry for a few days to make fun tableware. You don't need a plastic potter's wheel or anything like that, just shape and play. Have fun!

Pros
  • Create something new: This refill set will not only keep you going with your pottery, it also contains illustrated instructions for making spiral and clamp pots.
Cons
  • Only available in white
