Mishimoto Teardrop Shift Knob: Sleek Black Finish for Optimal Control Review

The quality level of the treatment can only be explained as an orgasm you can touch lol. Seriously, it's designed for the mic madness at how high the quality level is. Worth the money but the adapters are plastic.

Everything perfect except the weight has decreased by about 36 grams (294 on the box but only 258), still feels good compared to my old AC Schnizer (195g). . That's right, the 294 gram shift knob would be a 5 star rating!

Very well balanced shift knob. Matte finish provides good texture, non-slip. The only drawback are the plastic shaft adapters. They appear to be durable, but only time will tell. I want them to be metal or derlin like a gear knob.

Mini Cooper R53 No Thread Easy Install with Bushing and Screws Included. Increases the offset height by about 1.5 inches which is good for my 5.7 foot height. The pen itself is well made for the price. The core is a few ounces heavier than the original for smoother shifting. My glove size is medium and fits my hand very well. Another option for me was $160.

As of this writing, I haven't installed the handle. First impressions are important and unfortunately they weren't there this time. Knowledge came outside the box, which they tried to seal with tape. Handle has scuffs/scratches. (see photos) I think it's really new but the way it arrived makes me doubt it. I will update my review once I install it.

I like the design, the packaging and the value of this item. It fits my hand very well and I like its height. I had to deduct a star for the packaging and plastic adapter. As a premium grip over others, I'd like to see aluminum adapters with plastic locking threads like the OEMs. The package needs something to keep the delrin from chafing the package, obviously not meant to be thrown around.

I love this handle at the very back. I used it on a BMW Z3 and didn't need black adapters, but I suggest using small screw locks or drilling small screw holes on the derailleur stem. A lot of hard shifting to the rear or 5th side tends to loosen the screw. I would suggest a bigger screw but other than that it works great. The metal in the center still heats up a bit, but the Delrin material is pretty cool. And I live in Vegas.

Installed on Civic Si Fa5 "2008” with drain switch module. Found that the bulky tall gear knob adds plenty of headroom. Not looking at pin charts was my downfall. After receiving the package I immediately opened the box for installation as I expected much less cold in winter due to the "thermal cover" it was just as cold as my previous one piece aluminum handle. Not as weather friendly as advertised and the weighted core protrudes through the top of the grip leading me to believe the aluminum…

The grip is top notch, but my kit was missing adapter sleeves and the three "universal mount" screws kept loosening causing the grip to slip when moved. Product support redirects me to the Mishimoto website, but Mishimoto support does not recognize the Revain order ID. I don't know what to do to fix the situation. UPDATE: Mishimoto sent me the missing bushing. The shift knob now fits properly. I also found out why the three bolt method didn't work: one of the bolts had snapped and was therefore
