🔍 Enhance Precision and Depth Control with Mitutoyo 050083 10 Depth Base Attachment Review

This product is a colossal disaster. Despite its claims of being industrial-grade and scientific, it doesn't even come close to performing the way it is marketed. The cons are endless, but the topmost is that it's far too flimsy and doesn't offer accurate measurements. The only pro is that, sad as this might sound, it had a good-looking design. Avoid this product at all costs.

As almost everyone has pointed out, it's too tight on the Mitutoyo body for 4" and 6" Mitutoyo calipers. Press fit into a cavity where the fit slowly improves due to the plastic flow of the housing.

Well made product but not Mitutoyo. They only left their mark. As other reviewers have pointed out, it does not properly match the 500-196-30 caliper body. It almost fits, but doesn't quite match the dimensions given by Mitutoyo. The thumbscrew is tapered at the bottom and I suspect it will damage the edge of the caliper. I added a nylon washer to fix this, but this hack shouldn't be necessary for the overpriced $50 part. Luckily, the exact same Woodriver-branded item sells for less than half…
