Not a fan of version 5

I've been working in wave horizons since the first version and have been a regular customer of mizuno for over 10 years. I know Mizuno has made quite a few changes to this latest version and I'm not a fan. They're easy to walk through, but I lack stability and support for older versions. My feet hurt every time I walk in them and eventually they have to come back. I hate it when shoe companies ruin good things and this is another example of that.

Pros
  • Enerzy Foam: Mizuno Enerzy Foam is more responsive and springy than previous Running EVA technologies U4ic and U4icX.
Cons
  • Vulgarity

Doesn't go well with Athletic

Very strange landing. I have another pair in a different style that fit much better (Women's Mizuno Wave Inspire 17 Running Shoes). They're too soft, but they're also snug on the figure. Almost blocky feeling. There is also a small bar/strap just at the bottom of the laces that digs into the top of my right leg (see picture). My toes often go numb from wearing them. They fit true to size, just a little "tight" for my personal taste. I can't wear them for a long time or my legs will get numb.

Pros
  • Foam Support Wave: A wave of foam comfort and support.
Cons
  • The list will be long.

Some much needed tennis shoes. 4.5

I've been taking tennis lessons lately (yes, middle-aged women have a hobby...between tennis lessons and paint-by-number projects...this pandemic has opened my eyes to new things) and a great pair of sneakers are welcome. These Mizuno (Wave Horizon 5) shoes were a must have. The design is appealing. The colors are subtle - purple and black with accents of red and white. They are comfortable and true to size. I have narrow feet and high arches, but I haven't had any problems with them. They areโ€ฆ

BEST shoe for stability, overpronation

These shoes are amazingly stable! I'm 5'11, 159 pounds and this is a women's size 11 (standard width or B). My size is a 10 1/2 but I always go for a size 11. I have a medium arch and instep. Healing width is narrow/medium, bunion width is narrow (according to my foot scan :)). If you have a wide foot, the standard B width won't work. I first bought a gray pair from a sneaker store and after trying on 12 pairs of shoes I knew they were winners! I am a nurse who is on hard floors all day so good

Pros
  • X10 Outsole: Durable carbon rubber for longer wear.
Cons
  • I will add later
