It's worth it! best in Oils and Fluids

I have been using Mobil 1 ATF in the automatic transmission and power steering of my 1997 Toyota Land Cruiser for many years. After the initial flushing and refilling, I drain 3 liters of transmission ATF and refill 3 liters with every engine oil change. Gear shifts smoothly. I also use it in my 1985 VW Vanagon with automatic transmission and power steering, the shifts are very smooth. Please note that due to the fact that it is synthetic there will be some leakage from old worn out seals. The…

Will not fit MOPAR Chrysler ATF

I could have sworn this oil was made for Chrysler (MOPAR) transmissions years ago. I've used it on my old car (ATF+3 generation) for several thousand miles with no problems. Swapped the transmission for a newer Jeep that required ATF+4, bought a whole bunch of this stuff and then had to return it when I found the MOPAR specs were off the label. Either they didn't want to pay for lab testing or copyrights to put it on a bottle and it might or might not be used. Even so, MOPAR fluid was half the…

Works great on my 2008 Ford Ranger

My truck has 172k on the clock and had a nasty habit of shifting into reverse when the engine wasn't fully warmed up. reputable gear shop 50k early so this time I figured I'd drop the pan myself and change the filter and fluid. I read very good reviews about this liquid and it met my expectations. By the way when I dropped the pan I found a complete mess apart from a thick layer of particles on a magnet, a thick layer of a fat like substance all over the bottom of the pan. My advice to…

Warning GM Dexron with trans. Owner

I bought this Mobil 1 ATF for my Miata and it worked very well. Miata shifts like new. I later replaced all 12 liters of this oil in my GMC Sierra. Shifts were always smooth, but I felt like I noticed even smoother shifts with this Mobil 1, but there was a jittery sensation I'd never felt in the 4L60e before. I drove the GM for about 100 miles and the tremors persisted, then I switched the Mobil 1 to GM Dexron Fully Synthetic Transmission Fluid and the tremors quickly went away. If you have a…

PROJECT FARM PERFORMS GOOD RESULTS

PROJECT FARM is a great channel on U-TOOB that runs common sense tests of many popular products in a partially supervised manner. The results are unbiased and available to the public, often at accelerated speeds. The channel is not sponsored by anyone except those who wish to contribute. All products are paid for with their own money, which the tester receives from their supporters. Some tests are done just for fun, like testing lard as a small engine lubricant, which actually showed amazing…

Mercon V is great but be careful when the spec calls for original Mercon

Great for Mercon V applications My Ford Windstar has now done 250,000 miles on the original transmission with this fluid. However, be careful if your Ford requires genuine Mercon fluid. In 2001 Ford specifically stated in BOLD "Mercon not compatible with Mercon V", then in 2007 Ford discontinued the Mercon and stated that the new Mercon V was compatible with the old Mercon. .What magic did Ford create? I have found that "Multi-Fluids" such as this mobile product are best suited for Mercon V…

Best recommended for F350 transmission

I have compared many fluids for my 2000 F350 diesel. I chose Mobil 1 for a number of reasons, one of which is that it is highly regarded for its use of high quality base oil, reduced heat and increased power. When it comes to 7.3 diesel engines, there are plenty of crazies doing tons of research into the fluids they use, and almost all of them have put Mobil 1 alongside racing oils like Redline and Royal Purple. The fluid cost locally is $10 per liter which would cost me $160 to flush my…
