Great for mirror shine

After only using Mod Podge's matte finish, I switched to this one for making bangles, glasses cases and other small items. This gives them a nice, shiny, professional look. For additional protection, I apply two to three coats of polyacrylic paint.

Great for sealing diamond paintings

I really like this product to seal my finished diamond paintings (see attached pictures). Since it's water based I dilute it a bit with water and then paint a thin layer over the finished work. The end result is that the pearls are 'sealed' to prevent them from coming loose from the canvas and the shine in this formula enhances the brilliant effect of the diamond pearls. Very pretty! Easy to use and easy to clean afterwards.

Pros
  • Large selection
Cons
  • Easy to repair

Shine for days!

The Plaid brand does a great job with the Mod Podge. I love this stuff! I have glossy, matte and washable versions. I use them to put glitter on everything from canvases to coffee mugs and each type works perfectly! I've attached some canvases I've made with this type of podge mod and it holds up so well and doesn't dull the sparkle or cause it to peel. My advice: paint on one layer, then add glitter, let it dry a bit (I do an hour or two), apply a second layer and more glitter, let it dry and…

Good for sticking photos onto plastic cat litter buckets

If you have artistic experience, Mod Podge is a clear acrylic gel medium. But lower costs and no guaranteed archiving. So it could be yellow or something. If you need long-term archival, something like Golden Clear Acrylic Gel or Faber Castel Clear Acrylic Gel works very similarly to Mod Podge, but is guaranteed archival (acid-free and won't yellow) and costs between two and five. times more than Mod Podge. If you have no artistic experience then Mod Podge is similar to Elmer's thinner glue…
