It was the correct replacement part for the broken handle. I "fixed" the old one with epoxy for a few years but it didn't hold up.

The item was difficult to find as the shower faucet was very old. None of the retail stores had it. The part number was slightly different but it fit perfectly.

Water off/on twist works better, but somewhere there is still a worn part that I can't find to order. The handle still moves more than it should, but everything is usable.

There was a problem with the shower handle falling out of the handle. A small study showed that after 10-15 years, this was fairly common with these types of pens. Bought two of these - installation was a breeze and now the shower handles fit snugly in the handle and there is no more play in the handles. Well!

I bought this to replace a worn out tool that had worn handle threads (probably worn from minerals in hard water). The replacement device arrived in perfect condition. Although the device looked and felt the same on the outside, the mounting point on the back of the device was changed to not match an old proper wall mounted device. My original unit was installed way back in 2004 so be aware it may not be as easy as buying a new unit. Good luck to all.

This is a replacement for all Monticello one-handed interchangeable heads that Moen have been using since the 90's. The mounting system is different, but that's okay, the mounting plate (the black plastic piece in this kit) replaces the existing metal mounting plate. I ordered this pen sleeve not knowing that there are two different styles inside the pen where it attaches to the cartridge. If you look at Moen products, you will see "Posi-temp" and "Moenttrol". Two different designs. The old design is Moenttrol and posi-temp doesn't work with old faucets etc. The Moenttrol knob is the one you pull out to adjust the water flow and then turn it to adjust the temperature.
