Cables don't match

I've seen reviews saying they don't fit close to other keystone ports but thought I could make them work. It's definitely too wide, but that's not my problem. My problem is that none of my Toslink cables fit in the ports. They're no use to me at all if the cables don't fit.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • I'm concerned about these

Good Jack, but a little big.

Nice keystone jack but man it's tight. I stuffed an 8-port keystone board with Ethernet, HDMI, and speaker connections, and none of them were that tight. I don't think I would have put it in unless I rubbed some oil into the keystone port. For this reason I had to give 4 stars.

Pros
  • I'm holding my fists
Cons
  • There's nothing here

Cheaply made and overall poor production

Really surprised at how bad they are. Monoprice usually has decent quality for the price. They fit the wall plate EXTREMELY snugly to the point where I initially thought they wouldn't fit at all. Once installed everything is fine when you connect the optical cable but as others have pointed out the connector falls apart completely when you try to disconnect it.

Pros
  • Feels good
Cons
  • Long delivery time

Didn't work as intended.

Try using this with a RiteAV Wall Plate to clean up cables behind an installed TV. Connecting multiple cables together has been shown to degrade signal quality, picture quality was junk, and audio was blurry and/or muffled. Disappointed that it wasn't functional because the final product was aesthetically what I wanted. I'm a regular TV presenter, music lover and gamer. So when I say the quality is bad, that's coming from someone who isn't even picky.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Some little things

You end up pulling a small black piece out of your wall.

I really hate leaving 1 star reviews but these things are rubbish. I bought 2 of these for TV wall panels and BOTH have the same error. A small black detail (pictured) pulls out of the case very easily. When I plugged in my TOSLINK, the black piece popped all the way out and crashed into the wall. I had to sniff. I had to use epoxy to secure the little black piece so it wouldn't slide out when I plugged in the TOSLINK cable. Stay away from this design guys.

Pros
  • Good for many
Cons
  • Makes angry

The plastic part came out with my cable connector

Broken on first use. It is quite difficult to insert the plug. And when I try to unplug the connector, the black plastic part came loose from the base and went very bad. Now I can put it back in place and it looks like it can stay there, but 1) when I pull the plug out (air side) the plastic part comes out with my cable connector. 2) no sound, I guarantee the cable is ok because it has sound when connected directly. This is an inexpensive device made in China. it looks good, feels good. But…

  • Large selection
Cons
  • Cleanliness

Will not fit next to other keystone jacks

Wider than regular keystone jacks. They cannot be used on panels that require the jacks to be placed side by side. They work great when stacked (e.g. when used with Monoprice plate 106729) but are not suitable for use with a 6 port plate (e.g. Leviton plate 41646). I ended up using a dremel to remove the side clip part and then I had to glue the actual adapter to the keystone bushing. Aside from the fit, they work very well and allow you to plug in the TOSlink cable right side up. or even…

Pros
  • Slim design
Cons
  • Too long to wait

Wiring doesn't line up

I used 2, one in each wall panel to hide the wires to my hanging TV. I couldn't line up the connectors properly to send the signal to my Bose sound system. I even bought 2 more thinking it was user error and maybe I distorted them when installing them in the tablet. Same problem. Again I thought it was a bad setup as I can see a red light on the other end, removed them from the wall plate and connected them in series from the TV to the Bose and they only worked when I held them horizontally. I…
