    Connectors loosen over time

SATA connectors buckle, stretch and loosen over time, allowing them to stay securely attached to hard drives longer, making them useful for RAID or other applications where reliability is key, become unusable.

    Pros
    • Useful beyond their intended purpose
    Cons
    • Annoying

    Revainrating 1 out of 5

Not usable - Molex contacts wobble too much, bad wire AWG

I liked the price, otherwise I wasn't enthusiastic. It's almost impossible to use with Molex connectors for my Thermaltake PSU. The 4-pin Molex "male" pins "wiggle" so much that they can't mate with the power supply's Molex sockets! AWG cable (18AWG?) is also bad, I expected more from Monoprice.

    Pros
    • Cool
    Cons
    • Working speed

    Revainrating 5 out of 5

The 4-pin Molex connector is difficult to connect.

I had a hard time connecting this thing to the 4-pin molex connector on the power supply. All of the pins on this cable are loose so they don't sit quite straight. They move when you move the wires. It took a lot of effort to line up the pins properly so they could be inserted. The rest of the cable is solid with a good length between each SATA socket. Monoprice, you disappointed me. I usually like your stuff.

    Pros
    • Don't waste too much time
    Cons
    • This makes me nervous

    Revainrating 4 out of 5

Poor quality cables to SATA cables

Two of the four wires on the last SATA power connector slipped out of the crimp. Luckily I only had to use three of the four connectors, so I was able to cut off the bad connector on the third connector and use it in my build. The wires also seem to be of lower gauge and quality than I expected. Very disappointed.

    Pros
    • Nice touch
    Cons
    • Modernity

    Pulled Drive Compatibility

Some of my drives pulled from WD external enclosures were not recognized by my Unraid setup. At first I thought I had bad drives, but after using this adapter the drives were recognized immediately.

    Pros
    • Best in Niche
    Cons
    • Outdated

    Revainrating 2 out of 5

    Terrible handwork.

Terrible quality, made with molded connectors that put you and your valuable PC at risk. This is NOT AN INDUSTRIAL STANDARD in terms of materials and workmanship. Use this at your own risk of shock or failure. They don't want to return it, so beware AMAZON consumers!

    Pros
    • Hands-free operation
    Cons
    • I can't remember, but there was something

    Revainrating 3 out of 5

Good value and better than Molex to SATA cables

If you run MythTV like me and have 13 hard drives in your computer, the usual methods of making sure there are enough power connections won't work. But this cable fits and I will exclusively use it instead of other adapters in future builds.

    Pros
    • Good looking
    Cons
    • Security
