A good speaker for its price

A good speaker for its price. The sound field is a bit narrow, but a star deduction. You have to be directly below to get clear highs.

Pros
  • a handy thing
Cons
  • There are doubts

Great sound amazing price

I've replaced some off the shelf JBL & Bose ceiling speakers with these and the mono price actually sounds a lot better. Much more depth of sound, ideal for music and announcements from an automation system.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Unbelievable price

Good entry into the walls

I haven't installed it yet but tested it, monoprices are also installed in the wall at the front and in the middle. Compared to other in walls I've bought and played outdoors alone. I see how they can work very well.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • I don't like it, everything is fine

For money? Great

Paid a ridiculously small amount for this (I think it was an open box or something). Use them as a back border in the ceiling. They sound surprisingly good and have a fairly smooth frequency response from 80Hz upwards (after Audyssey correction, see attached image).

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Band

You get what you pay for.

Sound is muted when off. Low bass is normal as the woofer is designed for high output, so only mids are reproduced at normal output. The tweeter is just for show. No high frequencies. The whole speaker is huge, but the sound is small. The mids and mids are all you can get. My old designer installed 6" speakers sound better. Now I went with them because I can't find a speaker that fits the huge cutout I made for the Monoprice. I tried 82AC - they have them same size BUT they are exactly the same

Pros
  • Great overall performance
Cons
  • Only available in black

Not as good as Monoprice in-ceiling speakers

I have been using Monoprice 6.5" in-ceiling speakers in my surrounds and satellites for a while and am very happy with them. I have upgraded my system to Supporting Dolby ATMOS and as I loved the in-ceiling speakers so much why not use the in-ceiling speakers as the ATMOS speakers They were easy to install and beautiful to look at but they reach their limits much sooner than wall mounted ones I can do built in walls without Problems running at 80hz Ceiling speakers on the other hand have to run

Pros
  • Very good value
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for seniors
