I don't have any professional networking experience although I'm studying for it at school. I recently installed a few computers around the house and didn't want to pay exorbitant prices for pre-made cables. I also wanted to be able to build some cables using what I learned from the course. It took me a while to find copper cable at a bargain price, but that's about it. I only ran a few wires around the house so I didn't need a 1,000 foot box of wires. The 250 feet that came with the kit suited

It's easy to work with, but still cheap.

Like it or not, I won't leave a top-notch cable in my house. I mainly make patch cords for desktops, routers/switches, a few NAS devices and so on. I won't spend two or three times as much for a fancy cable. This cable is fairly well balanced. The overall construction isn't very strong, but at the same time this is perhaps the only cable I've used at home where the wire stripper built into my crimping tool didn't cut through the twisted pairs either. light enough, and while I'm not aโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Quick start guide

Worked great. useful for cables and accessories

I was planning to connect my ASUS mesh network to an Ethernet backhaul, so I bought a lot of cables. I was able to connect between the first and second router with no problems (about 50 minutes). The connection between the 2nd and 3rd routers required a new ethernet line running through the walls and attic to connect them. I called my grandson to work and gave him the task of going to the attic and actually running the wires under my line. He settled in the attic (3rd floor) and I went to theโ€ฆ
