Came in a zipped pouch

I have not used the product but need to check as the product I purchased from Top Goods came in a zipped pouch inside a yellow padded envelope . No plastic packaging. There is no product manual. Just one product. Just wondering if the $50,000 warranty is covered and where the product came from. I will update this after I get my system up and running. (Update) I just got this from the Monster Cable website. Monster is committed to providing our customers with superior, reliable products throughโ€ฆ

Simple fix for budget subwoofers

I recently did a very big upgrade to my home theater and changed the layout of the units. This caused my subwoofer to be out of range of one of my UPSs. As a subwoofer I didn't need a UPS anyway, just something to protect against power outages. It's been working great for the past few weeks, I recommend removing just the middle screw, it doesn't really need that support as long as you're pressing it against the wall when you unplug the device. I want to comment on the most negative reviewโ€ฆ

Smart protection for your subwoofer

This thing works and installs great. I have a Monster 5100 as my main surge protector and power cleaner, but I can't connect a subwoofer to it due to the distance. This is a simple and effective way to protect your powered subwoofer. Fast installation. Just remove the center screw from the front. Installs ABOVE front panel. It's great that you still have two sockets after installation. If you can't protect your subwoofer with a simple surge protector, this is a great and inexpensiveโ€ฆ

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Good mostly, but...

Protection price

The effectiveness of this power center has not yet been clarified because it has not yet been tested. The unit's LEDs work fine, but one downside is how tightly it's attached to the wall plate. You can tighten and tighten and tighten the long central screw, but all you will do is deform the bezel behind the device until it breaks. Your only option is to tighten the screw just enough so that the power center doesn't separate from the bezel when you unplug the power cord from the unit. Howeverโ€ฆ

Wash, rinse, repeat

I don't quite understand the meaning of the mesh filter, which should be disposed of after use? There are so many reasons for a circuit to shut down other than a dangerous over-voltage, but there is no way to reset the PowerCenter SW 200 after it shuts down. The Monster website advises you to stop using the device and contact your retailer. Why not do it with a replaceable fuse or reset switch? Sorry Monster, this is a mistake - do not recommend this product.

Hum not fixed in my subwoofer

My new Polk Audio subwoofer has a very low hum when plugged in and not in use. I bought a MP SW 200 WITH CLEAN POWER RATING to get rid of this hum without paying for a larger surge protector which I don't need. But the hum is still there. Boo-uu! On the other hand, the surge protector is fine, so hopefully it will protect my subwoofer.

  • Great price
