Using distilled water is probably a must

The biggest problem people will have is that jellyfish only swim near the surface and don't swim around. I tried cleaning them and putting a few drops of dish soap on them (that worked for a day or two) but they didn't float until I filled them with distilled water. I think if your tap water is "right" you can get away with it. If you take out the jellyfish with distilled water, they just hang around whatever you want below. When you turn it on, they appear to swim around the pool (mostly head…

Those rocks! at Fish & Aquatic Pets

I wasn't impressed at first. But I have to say, once you have these setups and in "caveman" with the lights off, it's pretty cool and looks so realistic that people keep asking me if it's real or not when they first see it Let's see. I used the "a few drops of dish soap" method to get it working as many people say. Remember to only coat the OUTSIDE with dish soap as this will help weigh it down. I also found that if I use a long, blunt tool (I have sharpened chopsticks. Don't use bamboo sticks…

Great lamp. Incorrect item description.

When I ordered this lamp I wanted a larger size as per the product description. I received a smaller lamp. Revain gave me a discount between the price of this lamp and the smaller lamp. Now to the product itself: This is a truly amazing lamp. Jellyfish move very realistically. The pump is quiet and the lighting is suitable for both a mood lamp and a night light. But a word of caution: you must use bottled water, regular or distilled. The main thing is that there are no bubbles in the water at…

Worth every penny! on Aquarium Lights

Bought for my 9 year old daughter's room for Christmas and now in February it still hasn't left our kitchen! The whole family loves this! I will be buying a few more for different family members, even my 70 year old dad! This is a gift for all ages and really brings a calming vibe to any room. I've seen a few reviews from people saying it didn't work or they were disappointed, but if you follow the directions and use dish soap AND the right water (distilled) you also take the time to get ALL…

Relaxing, Calm, Beautiful

I already own a DiscoveryKids Jellyfish Tank and had the opportunity to purchase another Jellyfish Lamp (JFML). I knew it was supposed to be as relaxing as the Discovery and it is! I'm not disappointed. This will be a partial overview of JFML and a comparison to Discovery to help you decide between the two. I'm an aquarist with a display aquarium and a few small aquariums in the house, so I know these things). The JFML aquarium is technically larger than the Discovery, but in reality there are…
