Smart Buy: Replacement Parts

Huge time saver, quality product. You don't have to deal with a rusty retaining ring and a stubborn bearing that's been subjected to extreme heat and won't budge. If you live in the rust belt or have customers who have driven about 5,000 miles with a worn bearing, this is for you.

Pros
  • Replacement Parts
Cons
  • Requires Socket

The best and cheapest way.

The shop charged $500 to press the new bearing into the old one. Of course it was work. But for half the price I got a new hole assembly and replaced it myself. If you have at least some experience in mechanics, this is easy to fix. It takes about an hour if you have the necessary tools.

Pros
  • Chassis
Cons
  • A few small things

Excellent option - steering knuckle

I had to replace the bearings but they are pressed. My mechanic was afraid that if he tried replacing the bearings it would turn into something more due to rust and other issues. I bought them so I can do it myself as I don't have the tools to press the bearing in. I've done both butts and they've been on the truck for months with no problems. It's 2005 so I did some more work as everything was disassembled and I could see how rusty some things had gotten. Even my mechanic praised them upon…

Pros
  • steering knuckle
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
