How did Apple ship power adapters without this?

This is a fantastic addition to my MacBook Pro. I regretted losing the MagSafe due to the quality of the magnetic closure, but I didn't realize how much I actually missed the little charge indicator the most. This cable solves that problem and brings back the charging LED. It's not ideal: it doesn't always turn green when the laptop is fully charged. (I've found it works better when my MacBook is asleep.) LED not accurate - MacBook not charging.

I bought this cable for my new MacBook because the new charging cables don't have a really useful LED to show the charging status. I plugged it in and it turned orange indicating it was charging. It turned green very quickly, but it took a long time for the device to reach 100%. EDIT: Not sure if it's the cable or my MacBook. I plugged the cable into the port last night. This REPLACES old APPLE backlit cables

New APPLE laptops come with no magnetic connector or backlight. It's sad that they dropped two very important features for many of us, but this product helps with at least one of those missing elements. First, the cord is made qualitatively!
