Works great in gauges

Works right out of the box. The diesel sensor needs a connection to the alternator (not the coil on older gas engines) to read RPM. The gauge momentarily moves the pointer on the scale when power is applied, but returns to 0 and functions normally when the engine is started. Mine is used on a petrol engine because I needed a 6k speedo

Pros
  • Impressive
Cons
  • Expensive

Relatively easy connection, enough instructions. Responsive and smooth.

I hooked it up to the alternator terminal and I love it. You'll need an optical or external touch to calibrate it, but it's not that hard. A few tweaks, checks, and reconfigurations and you're done. Pretty easy and the instructions were pretty good. Works with responsive and fluid motion.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Expensive

Instructions The sensor does not fit.

Cannot find the adjustment point. Two plugged holes on the back and I just can't see a slot. The opening appears to be a full 2 inches and if there are numbers, they are NOT readable. Tried magnetic glass and flash but to no avail. I want a response from a real representative, not just the person answering my query. Appearance pleased, but something is wrong. Can only hope I get a genuine/useful answer.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Nothing

Nice little tach for lights and electrics

Super nice tach, ordered it for my Cummins trade-in Chevy that didn't have a tach and stuck it in the w pin on the alternator and it seems to work great, put it together Just make sure you remove the rubber knobs on the back and set the number of cylinders you have using the rotary knob inside the tachometer with a mini screwdriver! looks good quality and it looks great, i'm generally happy with the outcome of the product, for my money $33

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • No

Looks nice but doesn't work well

The product was good quality for the price but it works horribly. He doesn't react the way I'd like. I have the dial set to eight on my V8 but the needle drops around 4000rpm for some reason. An auxiliary light connected to a light switch will turn on with the switch but will not turn off by the switch. The backlight is good, and maybe that's all you need. The additional light with switch is still too bright.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Not bad

Easy Install - Detailed Instructions

I installed this little tachometer in the dashboard of my 1993 Ford Ranger (V6). I had to change the dashboard under the tachometer. The face is small but legible. I didn't buy this with performance in mind; I find it too small for this purpose. However, it shows me the RPM range easily enough and it helped teach my son how to drive a manual transmission! For the price you can't beat it. The tachometer is adjustable for any engine from 1 to 10 cylinders with easy rear adjustment.

Pros
  • Dope 🔥
Cons
  • Useless Features

A few hundred less but works

I installed this on my '67 Mustang. It works from the speedometer signal from the MSD box. The instructions aren't optimal, but I got it working after a few cable connections. I would have expected the wires marked Dash 12V to switch but apparently not. Your tuning controls are a kind of sensitivity, and the numbers aren't the number of cylinders. On my 6 cylinder it's set to 3 and max and it cuts out at around 230 rpm. I used my Bosch timing light as a calibrator. For $50 with the ability to…

  • Handsfree
Cons
  • Very expensive

Replacement Wheel Horse 520-H Tach

Installed to replace a broken wheelbarrow with a Wheel Horse 520-H tractor with an Onan P-220 engine. The factory gauges are mounted on a metal instrument panel and covered by a plastic instrument panel. The bezel of this device was too thick to fit between the two panels. I used a 2" drop wheel to enlarge the hole in the plastic panel by about 1/16" and installed the new tachometer over the plastic gauge panel. I connected the block according to the connection diagram in the manual. I…
