Description of Motorad 678 221 Integrated Controlled Thermostat

Integrated MAP controlled housing thermostats are the next generation of integrated housing thermostats. They allow additional regulation of operating temperature via maps stored in the ECU. Designed for maximum efficiency to provide adaptive, on-demand cooling based on the engine's overall performance and load state. New parts don't always work

This product arrived pre-installed with a dead coolant temp sensor after trying to figure out what we did wrong all day. We finally swapped out the coolant temp sensor from the old thermostat housing and it's better. Always remember that just because a part is brand new does not guarantee it will work!

Pros
  • Tested for a year
Cons
  • I don't have much to complain about, everything is fine

Complete garbage. Bought in June 2016, installed afterwards.

Total nonsense. I bought it in June 2016 and installed it after it arrived and it just broke and poured coolant out of a seam. Including temperature. The sensor was rubbish, used the original for good results. Just ordered as I was in a bind. Next time I will be authentic. Edit: There was no seam. It actually broke near the seam, about three inches long. Explains why he lost coolant so quickly. Today (01/24/17) I installed the original mini thermostat, no problems.

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • I don't remember

I brought it for my 2010 MINI Cooper as coolant.

Bought this item for my 2010 MINI Cooper which had a coolant leak on the body. The product was installed, the leak was fixed, but I got an engine check P0128 - coolant temperature below thermostat control temperature means the engine is not reaching the expected temperature after running for a sufficient amount of time, or in other words, it takes a long time too to warm up. I'm sending the part back for an exchange but the same problem. I decided to spend the extra $60 and bought a case from a

Ordered for the price, returned for the quality

Never started my car but before you all tear me apart let me explain why - Found in a run down old box that wasn't fully sealed. It had absolutely no packaging. It looked and felt very cheap with rips showing through the stitching. I read most of the other reviews, some people got lucky, others got headaches. The price was so cheap that I decided to risk it. For a component that looks like a headache enough to replace to come in such crappy packaging, I didn't even bother putting the car in for
