Should be called Fail Fast

Not recommended. This thermostat has failed in the open position for 2 months. Hitting a hot stop and go on a hot Dallas August day, the thermostat locked in the open position. In cold weather, the car does not warm up to the right temperature. There are protrusions on the thermostat (highlighted with a blue arrow in the photo) that are permanently fixed when the thermostat opens to a certain point. I had to replace it with a stock thermostat to get the car back to normal temperature.

Pros
  • Interlock technology prevents costly engine damage
Cons
  • The list is long.
