2001 Ford Explorer Sport (2Dr.) 4WD

I bought this for my 2001 Explorer Sport made after 7/24/2000 to fit. It is OEM and of high quality and we hope it will last 250,000 miles like the last.

Verify your VIN for this part with Ford First

I bought this for a 2001 Ford Explorer and Revain Garage said it would fit. nope Apparently two different models were used in the 2001 Ford Explorer. Locate your VIN on the Ford parts page to verify the part number. I gave it 5 stars because it's a Ford part at a great price.

The part itself works fine and I haven't had any problems.

2002 explorers should be careful with this item

I used the Revain part finder to make sure it was compatible with my truck - it is NOT. First. 2002 Explorers were built after two production dates - before March 2002 and later. As far as I can tell, pre 2001 builds can be distinguished by the position of the throttle body. IF the throttle body and air intake are pointing directly to the left side of the engine (passenger bike) and going to the airbox on the left side, you have a pre 2002 build. The upper radiator hose is visually clear and…
