Motorola 53865 Headset Swivel Microphone Review

We bought 3 of these headsets expecting the sound to come through headphones only. All three fell short of our expectations as the audio came out of the walkie-talkie rather than the headphones. Very disappointed with our purchase.

We were unable to find a headset that would fit our Motorola radios, model RDU4160d. If you buy an "unauthorized" model, the radio's speaker won't turn off when the phones are plugged in, defeating the purpose. These phones are correct and work well if you know two things: 1 . You must INSERT the connector SECURELY. There's a final 1/4 inch to insert, which isn't obvious, and the radio speaker doesn't turn off if you don't. /disable.) 2.
