Mountainsmith Youth Scout Backpack Lotus Review

My daughter chose this backpack because she needed a backpack strong enough to hold all of her survival gear. It has a lot of space. She's happy with it but I'm concerned about the bar at the top which can get in the way of her walking by catching on things because it's not big enough. What's the point if the frame sticks out like that?

Great backpack had plenty of room for a week's hike. Pockets are great for organizing your gear. This backpack is designed for older teenagers or adults. The only thing this backpack lacks are load stabilizers. Besides, it wore well. I like the side slide through the bag, it's a great place to put your rod in.

I tried it on for my son yesterday and found the frame is bent, the shoulder strap pin is bent, the frame is scratched and patched, and the plastic plug on the frame tube has chipped off. I ordered two of these packs for our sons (ages 8 and 11) to use on weekends or week-long hikes. enable long-term use.
