I bought this to replace a Hamilton Beach grinder (which only lasted about half a year) that looks pretty much like this one. This only worked well the first few times, after that I get a lot of whole grains along with ground grains, and also the "self-cleaner" leaves a lot of residue under the blades making it hard to get to. ground coffee from a coffee grinder. These are knife sharpeners (not the store type sharpening wheels) but they sharpen fairly evenly but not as well. The cord storage is inconvenient to use (you wrap the cord in a round slot at the bottom). Ease of cleaning is the plastic basket that tries to scrape the debris from the steel grinding chamber. More coffee will stick to plastic than steel alone, and the camera is easier to clean without plastic. It grinds up to 3-4 ounces at a time.

This machine grinds efficiently but I wonder who the hell came up with the "bowl cleaning" mechanism: it doesn't do a thorough job, it makes reassembling for the next grind more difficult and it makes cleaning of brush residue difficult. Great price, less than $20 for a multi-setting grinder. Honestly I prefer a coffee grinder with burrs but the last couple I bought broke so I went in a new direction and the cost was great. So this product really does grind coffee and if you leave it on for about 10-15 seconds it will do a decent job. The noise level is absurd though, it's REALLY loud like a grill if left on for more than 5 seconds or so, pretty loud so it's pretty annoying to use. This is an improvement over the release button version. Very easy to adjust amount and grind size, no need to change it.
