After I put it to the test, I found these zip ties to be flimsy and low-quality. They broke easily and struggled to secure anything tightly.

Yes! It was a disappointment. See the picture for comparison (right ties are normal, left ties are the product). It was very thin and delicate, especially when compared to a "regular" cable tie of the same 8 inch length. I was able to tighten it so tight that it broke, which is saying a lot considering I have a torn ligament in my wrist. These cable ties were very smooth and didn't break when I tightened them. I have used them on baby gates to keep them from stretching and they have held up to my kids and dog.
