Good stuff.

This is the right foam for installing integrated circuits. The chewy (and crispy) foam will hold the chips in place so they don't fall out. I can see how some of them can be damaged when handled, the foam is brittle like a leaf. It must be placed in some kind of container. If you buy ORICO Portable 3.5" Hard Drive Protection Box Storage Box and fill one side of the case with two layers of this foam, you can get a nice durable case to store EROM and IC (New DIY version of the original iTOI )…

You must get this. Throw away everything else.

If you want to use a high quality conductive foam pad to store ESD sensitive components, this is the material. With the ohmmeter leads about 1/2 inch apart I see about 4k ohms. It's not a true measurement of ohms per cm or anything like that, but it doesn't matter if you don't want to make resistors out of that material. When it comes to ESD protection, I've seen people use everything from plastic sheeting to polystyrene pads to closed-cell styrofoam material - all of which PROMOTE static…

Conductive but slightly rough

ESD protective foams are available in three qualities. Conductive is top notch because it creates an electrical connection between the pins inserted into it and prevents voltage differences. Rub it with a balloon, let a cat sleep on it, hang it on a Tesla coil - no matter what charge you apply, it will be distributed evenly throughout the device without causing harm*. This foam is actually conductive, which was a little surprising since the product name simply says "Anti-Static Foam". I…
