It's good but one thing

I don't have a really power hungry laptop, just a Dell Latitude but it does what it says on the tin but one thing my laptop says is it's slow to charge.

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • Protection

Excellent quality and works with a 4k 60hz monitor

This hub works well with my MacBook Pro M1 on a 4k 60hz monitor. The material feels great and has a solid metal construction. The cable is longer than my other hubs, which makes it more convenient to connect.

Pros
  • Regular price
Cons
  • Weight

Read the 4k60 limit, USB-C dustbin fire continues

If your laptop is over a year old, 4k60 will not work. dp1.2 alternate mode over USB-C only supports 4k60 single function or HDMI/USB2 data adapter. None of the 3 laptops I tested this with have dp1.4 so they only support 4k30 with this adapter. club3d function c-to-hdmi button.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Can be damaged

Best High Quality among Computer Accessories & Peripherals

Use this on a 2019 MacBook Pro (Big Sur). Plugged into a 60" TV running at 60Hz and there was no noticeable lag. It looks really solid and I like its size. Appears to be well built. I have a Caldigit TS3 as my main hub, but it's very inconvenient to travel with. I only bought this hub to have some USB ports and soon to be able to do some audio editing when traveling, especially if I'm on a plane with no AC power. I think this will work great.

Pros
  • I'm Too Stupid
Cons
  • Looking Forward

Works on Ubuntu 21.04

Update: I recently ordered another one and it seems to be working fine on Ubuntu 21.04. It's an ambitious product with a 60Hz 4K display output, but priced like other USB docks that only have 4K at 30Hz output. Unfortunately, sometimes part of the picture twitches. I tried different Thunderbolt ports, HDMI cables, displays and refresh rates. I will order another one and update this review when things get better. The remaining ports work perfectly.

Pros
  • Everything is great!
Cons
  • Exchange Availability

Looks great, feels great, works great.

The build quality of this hub is top notch. Feels solid. It works plug and play on my iPad so no additional apps to download or anything. My only complaint is that the USB-C port on the hub itself is only used for power, so you're essentially giving up the iPad's USB-C capability for two standard USB ports (not to mention other things on the hub, such as SD card reader). It does exactly what I bought it for and does it very well.

Pros
  • Fits many people
Cons
  • Some difficulties

Well made product. Works well with a 60Hz ultra wide monitor.

This is a premium product in a well-made aluminum case that conducts heat very well away from the MacBook AC adapter I use to power it. It displays my MacBook Pro (with DisplayPort 1.4) screen well at 3840 x 1440 60z on a Samsung SJ55 Ultrawide. Other docks I tried could only handle 30Hz and my monitor doesn't support that. Just note that the 60Hz refresh rate only works with DisplayPort 1.4 (as stated in the dock's description), but if you've got a fairly new Mac, it's worth bearing in mind. I

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • A dubious purchase for seniors
