After all, it was then that the first folding knife with such an original name was invented. By the way, Opinel is the name of the founder of the company. And even now these knives proudly wear it. Therefore, having such a knife, you can touch the family heirlooms from France. How Opinel differs from analogues Opinel produces a lot of interesting products, such as cutlery and garden tools. But of course knives are especially popular. The whole secret of Opinel lies in their design and the use of special materials. This became the rule of the manufacturer, which is unshakable to this day. For example, the fact that only natural wood is used in knives for the handle. For this, especially expensive breeds are selected, such as boxwood or bubing. For the blade, the manufacturer chose two materials - Sandvik 12C27 stainless steel and high carbon steel. In the first case, a special mark “inox” can be seen on the blade, and in the second - “carbone”. The steel is high strength and can last almost forever. As for the blade shape of Opinel knives, it depends primarily on the purpose. Knives with a wide range of applications usually have a fairly wide blade with a pointed tip.

Possesses positive qualities: Despite its uncomplicated design, the knife exudes allure and is of superior craftsmanship. As a result of this, it is reasonably priced. Work does not frighten him in any way. It is clear that a finger was not used in the production of this item in any way. Con: Although the lock works well enough, it has a tendency to quickly become clogged because it draws in all of the dust and debris from the pocket. However, if you look after the knife properly, there…

I currently use 12 Opinel in carbon (stainless steel did not function for me). Although the knife is good, its bulk makes it difficult to carry around. Consequently, this miniature was bought. Even just having it in my hands makes me happy, therefore I'm happy with my purchase. Opinel did not let me down.

Pros
  • excellent opines, little size
Cons
  • No.

Not the best quality, but generally not bad.

A simple folding knife. He was sharpened sharply until he used it. I opened a few pistachios and nicks appeared on the blade, which are very clearly visible to the naked eye.

Pros
  • Compact, simple, sharp.
Cons
  • Very soft steel blade.
