Good but not balanced set. Cool Grays Only

Good product but sub. Contains two of each color and all cool shades. At about the same price, Lyra's harder grayscale pencils are balanced with cold and warm.

A bit disappointed

The sticks are ok, a bit stiff as mentioned elsewhere. Getting a set of 6x2=12 is a disappointment, they have other shades of gray that might include them as black and white are not shades of gray. I found it a little misleading but I think you get what you pay for.

6 colors, 12 sticks!

The wand itself is very hard but applies easily. The material is calcium carbonate - think VERY fine "egg shells, snail shells, shells and pearls" I think. It turns out opaque, but can be shaded. I tried it on thicker paper with a relatively low tooth and produced quite a bit of dust. I love the brightness of the colors even though they are grey!

Pros
  • Crafts and Sewing
Cons
  • Not sure

. It's not a 12 color gradient gray like I thought

A little harder than I expected and it's not a 12 color gradient gray like I thought. Black, white and 4 different shades of grey, all twice. But it goes perfectly with my other extra soft or soft (medium/hard) as I like. Especially since it is a gray package that allows you to do a lot of linear work. (sketch, gray hair over dark underpainting, etc., etc.)

Pros
  • Pastel
Cons
  • Needs a rosette
