Pretty to look at, not functional

It was and still is cute! But completely useless. The foam on the bottom isn't symmetrical, so the cactus tips over very easily, and replacing the foam in the middle of the bottom isn't that easy. The cactus is generally very small. Only holds 4-5 pens. The clamp magnet is rather weak, so it only holds a few clamps. It's definitely more for looks than functionality.

Perfect addition to a cactus themed dorm room

Bought for my daughter for college because she loves cacti and succulents. Small as other reviews said but so cute and unique. This is a bit small; I don't know if it's strong enough to hold a lot of heavy pens or pencils, but it's great for a few markers, rubber bands, and a slot for the occasional paper clip. Really more novelty to complete the table/room theme but still a great value buy. Suitable for cactus pencils, erasers, sharpeners, notepad. . . you get a picture.

Pros
  • Handsfree kit
Cons
  • Very expensive

Disappointed for two reasons

The base is too narrow so the holder tips over very easily. This caused problems with my pens and pencils flying all over my desk. I originally intended to use it to hold popsicle sticks with student numbers written on them. In theory, a random student could be attracted by selecting a popsicle stick from a container. The idea was good in theory, but the first time I scattered 32 popsicle sticks and had to pick them up off the floor, I threw them away. So now I use it as a pen holder and I have

Pros
  • There's something to it
Cons
  • Minor problems
