Bought for scratching post

We needed to replace the sisal rope on our scratching post. It was actually very nice, not as scratchy as some I've used. It was easy to glue with a hot glue gun. The size was comfortable for cats, although I might go for a smaller diameter next time.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Clarity

Does not look like the picture

Thicker than shown and different color than shown. I tried to redesign the cat scratching post because it looked exactly like the one I have now in the photos, but when I received it it looked completely different from the photos.

Pros
  • Handsfree
Cons
  • Protection

Good quality, if longer it would be better

I like the quality. While it could cover my coffee table legs, 164 legs covers half a leg. I have arched legs so I agree it has more surface than a regular table. So think twice before ordering, you may need double the quantity.

Pros
  • Best in its niche
Cons
  • Cord is shorter than other picks

Probably good for beds and furniture

I bought this to attach a scratching post but haven't figured out how to attach it to the posts. I ripped off the original broken rope which I believe was attached with staples. I'm trying to see if I can use glue to attach the new rope. I think one day I will come to this project.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Will not fit all

Perfect for our scratching post

Perfect for finishing sisal on our scratching post. It was the perfect size and very light. It smelled really bad for about a week and my cats didn't come near it, but now that it's gone the cats love it just as much as they did last time. I think leaving it outside for a few days to get rid of the smell first, but it's durable, reliable, and cheaper than replacing poles.

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Quick guide

Reeks of Vinegar: Scratching Posts

I like rope but the smell is so strong that the smell is too mild. I pulled the strings because of the smell. only one post and my cats don't scratch the post even after a few days. Strange, I ordered from the same sellers a year ago and had no odor to fight. Of course, the rope I ordered was "natural". Based on reviews of sisal rope from various vendors, bad smells are random. I just hope you're lucky.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something

Don't let the picture fool you with the crowd.

It comes with the stated quantity but just by looking at the picture you might think you are getting more than you actually are. It looks like a large coil in the picture, but it isn't. We weren't surprised knowing how much we were getting but just looking at the picture you would think it was a ball of yarn. There isn't a lot of yarn, but I think it's good quality. We will use them for fake lassos for decoration, it is NOT the height of a full size rope.

Pros
  • nice item
Cons
  • slightly wrinkled

Can be thicker for scratching posts.

After years of use I needed to replace the sisal on my scratching post. My post is an actual branch, so about 3.5 inches in diameter and 66 feet of sisal only covered the 17 inch length of the pole. It was a skein, not a skein, and if you drop it while winding it will be difficult to unravel. Also, my previous rope was heavier - you can see it in dark brown over the part just wrapped. I'll leave this in place but continue with the previous heavier sisal to finish - my cats are hard on…

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Functionality

A little fiddly to use

Was excited to try this to create a scratching area in my cat's night cage. It can only be me, but working with him is harder than I'd like. I should have bought the coil, not just a hodgepodge of them. Not an easy workflow to wind it onto the product like a round spool. Also very prickly and uncomfortable, even painful to the touch. I ended up having to wear gloves. Again, I don't know if it's just me, as far as I know every sisal product of this kind is like this. But I wouldn't use it…

Pros
  • Delivery was very quick
Cons
  • Crumpled
