Premium Solid Brass National Hardware N198-085 V1938 Kickdown Door Stop - Durable and Stylish Solution for Easy Door Control Review

I was looking for a replacement for our current kickdown doorstops as our old ones no longer stick to the floor. They are great and easy to install.

For our garage door we needed a doorstop longer than the standard 4 inches and it fitted perfectly. Beautiful brushed nickel finish. Looks great and works.

I was worried it might be cheap metal but strong enough to use as a weapon. It seems to rise and stay in place. Can't tell if the material is solid brass but heavy enough not to be magnetic. I don't want to scratch it to find out.

This doorstop was bought because the picture shows two screw holes at the top and one at the bottom. The holes are actually reversed, with one hole on top and the other two on the bottom when the stop is in the correct position.

I was looking for a simple door latch; We live in Europe and they were surprisingly hard to find, at least the brass version. But it fit, and shipping overseas wasn't even that bad. Let's hope they don't let our antique balcony doors smash our new screen door - another surprisingly unusual solution for Europe! (Here I can easily get Oreos, Buffalo Wings and whatever else I want; just weird stuff like doorstops and tie rods that are really hard to find, at least in Holland!)
