Through trial and error, I found that these hooks were more trouble than they were worth. The plating quickly wore away, leaving them susceptible to rust and breakage. While they were easy to install, this product ultimately caused more frustration than assistance.

Looks like a defect. The threads are very fine (only about .040") with flat edges instead of V-grooves. Otherwise they feel pretty solid.

They seem to work well. It's cheap, but it's also made in China and has a 320-pound working load (listed on a label attached to each bolt). I wouldn't use it for critical use but the price was good.
