I didn't like that the controls to change the light pattern are near the star and will be difficult to reach after hanging up.

Good for outdoor use. You can't turn it off if you can't easily access it as it will be factory reset. It was on the high front of my house so I just left it on for a month.

This was a great addition to our Christmas display and works quite well. The only problem is that the control panel mounted on the outside wall of the house is out of reach. This means that only the standard function is shown. An improvement would be to allow the control unit to save user settings instead of always reverting to the default function. We love all but one of these stars. The controller is attached to the star with a wire about 8 inches long. That means you can't reach the controller if you mount it on the roof.
