Before making these bags, I simply wrapped our homemade loaves in flour handkerchiefs. I think they held moisture better just because they were so tightly woven and how close they fit to the loaf. But it is much more convenient to use. Instead of carefully wrapping the bread every time we cut off a few pieces, we can just put it back in, seal it, and place it cut side down. So far I really like these. I bake several loaves of homemade bread every week. I usually just wrap the bread in a towel and leave it on the table, but I wanted something more convenient as small children don't always wrap bread well and it gets old much quicker. They completely fixed it. Children have no problem getting bread and putting it away. It stays fresh for about three days, about as much as I would with a towel.
