Every operator needs this clamp to support their monitor or peripheral while filming. It is easy to assemble and durable. I use it to hold my monitor and it can easily be mounted on a tripod and tilted properly for my viewing. Very good quality and strong hold. Depending on where and what I'm clamping, sometimes an extra piece of metal is needed to increase the thickness of the mounting surface to allow the clamp to hold better.

This arm works great. Holds tight with minimal vibration. The elbow joint is indexed so you have to loosen it a bit to adjust the angle of the elbow, but once in place it fully holds my small HD Focus 5 and large (300g NP-F970) battery with no issues extended. , also holds on to the ball all day. Very happy with this purchase so like I said if you need such a long arm and are trying to hold a small monitor or viewfinder don't be shy. Just take it.

I looked at the two shield clamp mechanism and thought it would work better on a flat surface than a super clamp with a small rig. Not so. That works, but due to the added flexibility of these connections, it doesn't work very well on a wooden shelf. With a strong clamp he was more shaky. I've been trying to work with this for months and it just gave up on me. I have a weight restricted setup, but it's not as light as a webcam or microphone. The handle that you use to screw the Super Clam onto the table screws into the stylus itself. This means that when unscrewing the handle, it comes off completely and cannot be screwed back on. I have two old Niver hands and this one is almost entirely better. When fully tightened, the arms do not move even when a reasonable amount of force is applied to them. The new clamp looks better and works better on flat surfaces. Degraded on the old rubber after a few years. A new one that will probably come with the rubber on the inside of the yoke, but the rubber on the ends of the yoke seems to hold in place better so it wears out less and lasts longer.
