Good quality but heavier than it looks

This is a very well built head, I am very happy with the quality of the product. The only complaint I have is that it's a lot heavier than it looks, which also doesn't lend itself to carrying in a backpack for a camera for hiking, wildlife photography, etc. As this is my main purpose in hindsight, I probably should have ordered this alternative lighter version from the same manufacturer and I will most likely add it to my kit later. : https://www.amazon.com/Neewer-Panoramic-Aluminium-Arca-Swiss……

  • Not the best

Excellent for the price

For the price I bought this was a great product. It is well balanced, I now have a Nikon 70-300 lens + teleconverter + Nikon Sony adapter attached to my Sony camera. With this weight, I have no problem tilting the camera and lens up or down at an angle (after balancing) and leaving them there. The only point I have to make is that the basic panning is harsh and not smooth. There are several videos on YouTube about changing the lubricant. My tripod can already swivel so I can use it on the…

Very durable, versatile and good value

I bought this along with the LED filter for my camera. Although my camera and lighting had become significantly lighter in terms of setup, I still needed something to hold them in place. As a broker, I have to photograph my clients' properties. Sometimes I do a 360 degree panoramic view of the room. This tripod head helps a lot. Once installed, I can turn the camera in just the right direction to continue 360-degree recording. If I need to adjust the lighting, I don't have to move the camera…

High quality metal and low price for low to medium use!

Well for $60 this is a great entry level pano head with everything you need to make near perfect shot panos so good info: good quality but 2 plastic knobs but $60, the wiggling arm is very smooth and easy to adjust to the right tension level, but the 360 degree rotation is the worst, rough, but the worst is that when you tighten the knob, the panorama block moves! I put it in the freezer overnight and the wiggling arm works great but the 360 degree part needs to be sanded down and cleaned of…

Pros
  • Rugged build
Cons
  • Only available in white

Also, for CORRECT panning, you will need both the "Slip Knot Guide" and the "Tripod Leveling Base" which Neewer also sells. (You can do without a leveling base IF you don't mind leveling your tripod with the more cumbersome method of adjusting each tripod leg each time.) THE PROBLEM is that the horizontal locking knurled nut at the base of this tripod gimbal becomes COMPLETELY BROKEN. with tabs on tripod leveling base. YOUR OWN PRODUCT! Also, you cannot remove the locking wing nut to replace it

Pros
  • 1 year trial version
Cons
  • Slightly torn

Good start with long gimbal lenses

For wildlife and some extreme sports. It's not a smooth video head for panning Emmy-worthy shots, but for photographing moving subjects with a telephoto lens it's a great introduction to what's possible and better than a sore wrist. Together with the excellent Sigma 60-600 it can be held for about 30 minutes, but as it is tiring it is an economical solution. Make sure your tripod can handle three to five times the weight of your setup, as well as the stress of movement and the weight of your…
