This is a great price for a basic 1D scanner. 1D means that QR codes or other matrix codes are not scanned. This works with single line barcodes like those found in the grocery store. Testing gives you a maximum of 6 inches before the scanner fails to scan, which is standard. Comes with a stand which is a nice addition. This barcode reader works right out of the box. I plugged it into my Mac, clicked "No" in the dialog box asking if it was a keyboard, and it immediately read the barcodes of the products in my database.
